Wear some Irish flair and prepare for some Irish fun! A year ago, during Police Week in DC, I joined our friendly police force at Murphy's Grand Irish Pub in Alexandria, VA. It was one of the most memorable "Irish" experiences of my life! We have another opportunity to experience a true Irish tradition at Murphy's on the 13th, to join Pat Carroll and Rocky Guttman singing some awesome Irish Pub songs, and traditional Irish Drinking sing-a-longs. If you have never been to an Irish Pub during a sing-a-long night, then you truly MUST make it to this. I've been "Irish Pubbing" since 1987, in various places across America and Germany (yes, Germany!), and again, Murphy's is one of the best! That said, I'd like to hold this meetup so more of you can enjoy this truly awesome and memorable experience. The venue, as stated, is in Alexandria, VA. It took us 1.5 hrs to get there the last time we went. I'd like to set up carpools, and especially arrange designated drivers. Remember, we promote fun and drinking, but NEVER drinking and driving!! Carpoolers will meet at my house - address to be emailed 2 days before the event - at 5pm on the 13th. I will need a head count ahead of time, as we will need reservations! This Pub will have people lined up out the door waiting to get in - all night- so let's make sure we can get in w/o any issues. Please answer the attached questions when you RSVP. Wear your St Patty's day gear and come join us for another night of Irish fun at The Pike in Gettysburg, PA. This venue is closer to home, so I thought I'd give those of you who may not be able to join us at Murphy's in Alexandria a chance to have some fun, and those of you who can make it to Murphy's a chance to have more fun! Now, I cannot vouch for the music, but The Sault Antlers Men's Chorus boast they sing some of the Rastious Irish Drinking songs around, and in my book, that is all I need to hear (although I'm not sure what "Rasty" means, but I imagine its a good thing)! This group has been playing in Gettysburg for years, in various venues, so I can't imagine they will be anything but amazing and fun. I hope you will join us for our final St Patty's Day celebration (this year)! Again, if you have never been to an Iish sing-a-long, please come out and share the experience.
